The Archive of Unbodied Letters is a Hip Hop theatre production that I conceived, wrote and directed that premiered in Hong Kong in June 2026. It surfaces the unspoken tensions and power imbalances between Hip Hop OGs and the generations that follow them whilst drawing a parallel to the similarities between the relationships of parents and children in Asia.
ZOOTV x Ian Abbott is a digital festival of international Hip Hop work which ran from 11th - 20th August 2021; feat. live performances, rich discussions, interactive adventures, film premieres, episodic series & more.
In 2018/19 I was Talk's Curator for Seeta Patel's work Not Today's Yesterday which looked at notions of colonialism and white washing. Over 18 months I invited Dr Kehinde Andrews, Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan, Alice Procter, Bidisha SK Mamata, Tobi Kyeremateng, Onni Gust, Pat Noxolo, Sumaya Kassim and Inua Ellams to participate in in depth, post show talks with Seeta.
As the Director of Citymoves (Scotland), I was responsible for the strategic vision, artistic programme and financial success of the organisation. For the 2015 edition of DanceLive I commissioned Graham Love to make a LEGO stop motion animation. The festival featured: Caroline Bowditch, Casson & Friends, Company Wayne McGregor, Tamsyn Russell, Moxie Brawl, The Urban Playground Team, Indepen-dance, Verity Standen, Cultured Mongrel Dance Theatre, All or Nothing, Joe Wild, Scottish Ballet, Still Motion, KaSt Dance Company, Prime, A Blank Canvas and Jabuti Theatre, Ian Johnston, Gary Gardiner and Adrian Howells.
From 2009 - 2014 I worked at Pavilion Dance South West - a dance house on the South coast of England; supporting, commissioning & programming 100s of artists and companies creating festivals and events including B-Town Throwdown, Thursday Night is Dance Night, 3 specialist industry summits and Unusual Dance in Unusual Places.
